Owner of Empower SPED, non-attorney advocate.
Shanice has been helping families navigate the special education process since founding Empower SPED in 2023, and has been helping parents navigate through workshops and advocacy since 2018. Her background in IEP facilitation, conflict prevention, and parent-school communication means she knows what happens at the IEP table, and how to help parents feel confident sitting at it.
Last school year, 100% of the IEEs Empower SPED requested were paid for, and one family secured a nonpublic placement with legal support. At SPED Bites, she's sharing the lessons behind those wins, one bite-sized session at a time.
